Apple’s special event to give a sneak peak of iPhone OS 4 last week has got a lot of iPhone users excited about the launch of the next generation of iPhone, especially since more evidence of video chat feature was found in iPhone OS 4 beta.

There are now speculations that indicate that Apple may be planning to launch iPhone 4G on June 22.

ModMyi is reporting that Apple has booked the Yerba Buena Center for Arts located in the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco for June 22. You may recall that this is the same place where Apple unveiled its earlier iPhone models and most recently, unveiled the iPad as well. ModMyi reports:

“Although no confirmations have yet come from Apple (naturally), there is speculation that the big reveal could take place on June 22nd. For this particular occasion, Apple has once again reserved the very conference center where the company announced the three previous versions of the iPhone. So all signs, indeed, point to June 22nd proving the 4th gen iPhone’s “big day.” Knowing Apple, however, we probably won’t know for sure until the evening of June 21st. After all, something has to drive the rumor mill until then, right?”
Considering that the article does not elaborate on the source of the news, we’ll suggest that you take this one with a grain of salt. Additionally, it needs to be noted that the iPhone has been traditionally unveiled as part of Apple’s keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event. It is possible that the conference hall has been booked for the WWDC event and not necessarily for the launch of the next generation iPhone.

But Engadget had also reported late last month that “iPhone HD” was likely to be launched on June 22 so we’ll have to see if they’ve got it right.
